A senior White House official denied the president’s son-in-law Jared Kushner was leading negotiations for an extension to DACA.
On Thursday, Newsmax White House correspondent Emerald Robinson reported that Kushner was holding meetings to extend the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program before the upcoming general election, which was denied by White House official Avi Berkowitz.
“BREAKING: sources confirm that White House advisor Jared Kushner has been holding meetings on DACA amnesty deal – with a goal of getting it done before the 2020 election,” tweeted Robinson. “This is false,” Berkowitz responded.

A White House official told Breitbart News that no conversations were being held about the subject, calling the reports “totally false.” However, they also report that there have been “rumblings” of the reported meetings.
There are nearly 700,000 DACA recipients in the United States. President Trump announced an end to DACA in late 2017, but legal challenges have kept the program alive for two and a half years. The Supreme Court is currently considering the future of the program.
