Electricity has been restored to all but one Prince George’s County Public School, as most students at the county’s 198 schools returned to classes on Wednesday morning.
Glenarden Woods Elementary was still without power as of 6:30 a.m., according to officials. Students there will miss their fourth day of school in the last two weeks, as classes have been canceled by an earthquake and power outages caused by Hurricane Irene.
Four other schools that were still without power as of Tuesday afternoon have been reopened: Heather Hills Elementary, Rockledge Elementary, Woodmore Elementary and Tall Oaks Vocational High School.
