7 arrested after the popular Chicago tourist destination “Bean” was vandalized

The “Bean” sculpture, a popular spot among Chicago tourists in Millennium Park, was vandalized and police have arrested seven people in connection to the overnight incident.

Police arrested seven people who were all nearby after graffiti was drawn over the “Bean” just before midnight on Monday CBS Chicago reports.

Officers noticed Tuesday that the Cancer Survivor Wall in Maggie Daley park had also been vandalized.

The graffiti appears to show the word “35th” written twice, once as “35th crew” and another time that is illegible.

The “Bean” is a sculpture designed by Anish Kapoor to look like a giant bean covered with reflective plates. It was installed in 2006.

Police have not released the names of the suspects.
