White House press secretary Sean Spicer doesn’t intend on going anywhere despite months of speculation about whether he’ll keep his job.
On CBS Monday, Spicer said continued speculation about his job security has no basis in fact.
“I feel very good,” Spicer said. “It truly is an honor to have this job and I feel very humbled every day to have it and to represent the president and the White House.”
Since Spicer took the podium for his first press conference in January to slam reports about the sparse crowd at President Trump’s inauguration, many in Washington have speculated about his job security or how long he’ll stick around as press secretary.
Recent reports indicate President Trump is happy with Spicer’s performance and the ratings his briefings are getting every day.
While Spicer’s contentious briefings have made headlines and been the subject of spoofs on “Saturday Night Live,” they’re the exception and not the rule, he said.
“Most of the exchanges [I have with reporters] are very pleasant throughout the day,” he said.
