Kevin Spacey drops ‘Merry Christmas’ video as House of Cards’s Frank Underwood

Disgraced actor Kevin Spacey released a Christmas video as his former character of Frank Underwood for the second consecutive year on Christmas Eve.

Spacey, 60, played the politician Underwood in the Netflix series House of Cards. The streaming service cut ties with Spacey and filmed the final season without him after several people leveled sexual misconduct allegations against the actor.

“You didn’t really think I was going to miss the opportunity to wish you a merry Christmas, did you?” Spacey begins the video. “It’s been a pretty good year, and I’m grateful to have my health back, and in light of that, I’ve made some changes in my life, and I’d like to invite you to join me.”

“As we walk into 2020, I want to cast my vote for more good in this world,” Spacey said. “The next time someone does something you don’t like, you can go on the attack. But you can also hold your fire and do the unexpected. You can kill them with kindness.”

In July, prosecutors dropped sexual assault charges against Spacey “due to the unavailability of the complaining witness.” A news anchor had alleged that Spacey had assaulted her son, William Little. The case against Spacey began to fall apart after it was revealed that Little’s mother had deleted potentially exculpatory evidence off of his phone.
