The mayor of Phoenix encouraged residents to call the police this Easter to report any large gatherings of people breaking social distancing rules seen in public parks.
Democratic Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego tweeted that “Easter Sunday is the equivalent of Super Bowl weekend” for the city’s parks and recommended that report “large gatherings” to the authorities.
“If residents need to report large gatherings at city parks they can call the @PhoenixPolice non-emergency line: 602-262-6151,” she wrote.

The physical distancing we are doing is working—we must keep it up. For @PhoenixParks Easter Sunday is the equivalent of Super Bowl weekend but, not this year. (THREAD) pic.twitter.com/YM3M2Y0iXn

Gallego issued a state of emergency for the city in March, closing bars and only permitting restaurants to deliver food.
