Beef cattle field day planned in Poplarville

POPLARVILLE, Miss. (AP) — Researchers at Mississippi State University’s White Sands Research Unit will showcase current beef cattle projects and offer hands-on demonstrations during a Nov. 13 field day.

The event will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 2 p.m.

Topics and demonstrations will address commodity management and pricing for beef cattle operations, forage variety projects and results and calving issues. Heifers also will be available for purchase through the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station production sale.

The field day is free and lunch will be provided. Registration will be held on-site.

The White Sands Research Unit is about 10 miles west of Poplarville on Mississippi Highway 26.
