If you see WBAL Ch. 11 reporter Jennifer Franciotti, please ask her how she?s feeling.
According to co-worker and gal pal Kate Amara, Jennifer mistook her daily multi-vitamin for her black Labrador retriever?s expensive doggie prescription for (what else?) incontinence. Jen quickly realized her mistake and made herself throw up the pricey pills.
“It?s really expensive medicine,” Jen said, “so I fished them out of the bowl and put them in some bread, and Bailey never knew the difference.” Atta boy, Bailey, good dog!
NO CAFFEINE FOR THIS CANDIDATE
No beans about it for U.S. Senate candidate (and longtime Third Congressional District representative) Ben Cardin. “Coffee is an energy-sucker,” he said. “And it was taking energy out of my campaign.”
Given the pressures of his daily grind, he probably had to watch his blood pressure. According to my sources, though, he has exchanged his daily “cuppa joes” for Deer Park spring water, which, of course, is bottled in Maryland.
ROCKIN? FOR A GOOD CAUSE
Well, it didn?t host the Rolling Stones, when they came to town ? the 1st Mariner Arena got that gig. But to quote my 20-year-old daughter, Catie, “Fletcher?s is one of the best venues around for concerts.”
Fletcher?s, which is located at 701 S. Bond St. in Fells Point, opened its doors Aug. 13 to The Pathfinders for Autism, an organization that was founded by parents to promote research for autism. “Rock for Autism” is the brainchild of Lily Nebel and Dayve Bowles, who wanted to give back to an organization that has helped them so much with their autistic son.
According to Pathfinders? Executive Director Dawn Koplos, 98 Rock?s top radio rock jock Stash hosted the seven-hour rock-a-thon that included talented local bands 7 Days Torn, Finger Cuffs, Paperback Tragedy, Devil?s Radio and Day Novo.
Dawn told me that her eldest son was diagnosed with autism in 2003. “We raised over $1,000 from both the event and a raffle that included a bat donated by the Orioles.
She added that she spotted Pathfinder board member Alisa Rock enjoying the tunes. Guess so, with a last name like that.
