For Integrated Marketing in Ellicott City, it?s not about flashy Web sites.
“We have to be an example to our clients of how basic, sound marketing should be done,” founder Randy Gartner said. “We like to get the fundamentals done first. Then we can put on the fancy bells and whistles and frills.”
Gartner founded Integrated four years ago after 25 years in the advertising business.
“I was working at WPOC for a couple of years, and then I decided it was time for something else,” he said. “That something else was setting up my own marketing company.”
Gartner and his creative partner, Mike Ziolkowski, currently work with about a dozen clients, pulling teams of freelancers together for projects when needed.
Sam Fribush, president and chief executive officer of Berman?s Jewelers in Ellicott City, has worked with Gartner for the past six years.
“He set up our advertising program for us. We were doing our advertising haphazardly,” Fribush said. “He brought order to it, found market trends, found what was working and what was not working.”
For now, Gartner is content to focus on his personal growth, rather than professional growth.
“We have a real passion for translating other people?s passions. It?s our job to pass that on to as many people who are likely to buy the product,” he said. “My growth is in that. If I can help people feel that they can afford to market their business the way it should be, then that?s growth.”
