ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) — Snow is making an appearance in Rockford earlier in the fall than all but one time since they started keeping records.

The Rockford Register Star (http://bit.ly/1yEsXoQ)reports that snow started falling early Saturday morning — just one day after the earliest snow on record fell in the city on Oct. 3, 1951.
