Trump and Biden spoke nearly same amount of time at first debate: Analysis

President Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden received almost the same amount of speaking time, according to an analysis of the first 2020 general election debate.

Reporting from CNN shows that Trump spoke for 39 minutes and 6 seconds during the hour-and-a-half debate. Biden spoke for 37 minutes and 56 seconds.

The debate was designed to give the two candidates an equal amount of time. However, the conversation was full of interruptions, primarily from Trump, which is what likely gave him the edge.

The moderator, Fox News anchor Chris Wallace, repeatedly had to remind Trump to stop interrupting his opponent.

The next presidential debate will take place on Oct. 15. A debate between Sen. Kamala Harris and Vice President Mike Pence is scheduled for Oct. 7.
