The body of a 33-year-old tech CEO was reportedly discovered dismembered inside his high-end Manhattan condominium.
A law enforcement official told CNN that the body was that of Fahim Saleh, an entrepreneur who was the CEO of Nigerian motorcycle ride-hailing company Gokada. Saleh’s sister reportedly discovered her brother’s body Tuesday in his Lower East Side apartment. Parts of his body were found separate from his torso and stuffed in bags, according to the official.
Saleh was reportedly last seen on surveillance footage entering the elevator in his building, which goes straight to the condo’s units, with a man dressed in black. The second man is being investigated by police as being the likely attacker.
The New York Police Department confirmed that Saleh is the man who was found dead when contacted by the Washington Examiner. The NYPD did not elaborate on any details of the reported dismemberment. The police department has not yet released details about a potential motive and said an investigation is ongoing.
“We are deeply saddened to inform you about the sudden and tragic loss of our founder and CEO, Fahim Saleh. Fahim was a great leader, inspiration and positive light for all of us,” Saleh’s company Gokada said in a statement on Twitter.
“Our hearts go out to his friends, family and all those feeling the pain and heartbreak we are currently experiencing, here at Gokada,” it continued. “Fahim’s vision and belief in us will be with us forever, and we will miss him dearly. Thank you for understanding as we get through this.”
