Video of a vicious anti-Semitic attack on Christmas Eve has surfaced, showing a group of teenagers attacking an Orthodox Jew on the streets of Brooklyn while dozens looked on in their cars.
The security footage shows seven teenagers walking along a street when they encounter an Orthodox Jew passing them in the opposite direction. As he walks by, one of the members of the group throws a folding chair at the man after he tried to get out of their way.
Several of the teenagers then try to jump the man from behind as he continued walking along the sidewalk. When he turns around to confront them, one of the teenagers throws a punch at him while another hits him with the chair again.
The video was posted on Twitter Monday by Yaakov Berhrman, who founded the Jewish Future Alliance. “I found disturbing footage of chair throwing & assault on Chassidic Jew Tue on Albany & Lincoln,” Behrman said. “Victim is uncomfortable reporting due to the discovery reform (attacker may know his identity). Same group assaulted someone later that night on Union Kingston.”
The attack marks the 14th reported anti-Semitic attack in New York in the last three weeks. On Saturday, a man wielding a machete wounded five Orthodox Jews during a Hanukkah celebration in New York.
