Police ask residents to ‘hold off’ on criminal activity until heat wave passes

Police in the Massachusetts town where John Quincy Adams and John Hancock were born have asked residents “to hold off” on committing crimes until the heat wave passes.

“Folks. Due to the extreme heat, we are asking anyone thinking of doing criminal activity to hold off until Monday,” the Braintree Police Department wrote on Facebook.

“It is straight up hot as soccer balls out there. Conducting criminal activity, in this extreme heat is next level henchmen status, and also very dangerous,” the post said.

The post encouraged residents to stay in their air-conditioned homes instead.

“We will all meet again on Monday when it’s cooler. Sincerely, the PoPo,” the post ended.
