Samantha Power, President Barack Obama’s ambassador to the United Nations, has a Friday interview with the Senate Intelligence Committee as it continues its investigation into the extent of Russia’s attempts to meddle in the 2016 U.S. elections.
A source close to the matter confirmed the interview, according to a report from CNN.
Power’s turn before the committee comes after a number of other Obama administration officials testified in the previous week, including former national security advisor Susan Rice and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.
Power unexpectedly cropped up in the parallel investigation by the House Intelligence Committee when it issued subpoenas related to the unmasking of Trump transition officials by Obama officials. Rice and Clapper were also targets of the House “unmasking” subpoenas.
Power is also expected to talk to the House Intelligence Committee, but no date for that meeting has been set.
