Palestinian terrorists allegedly stabbed one police officer in an attack on Thursday in Jerusalem’s Old City.
Two teenage assailants can be seen in a graphic video stabbing at Israeli police officers in a sudden attack in broad daylight. Police and security officials reportedly fired at both suspects, killing one and seriously wounding the other. One officer was stabbed multiple times in his upper torso and is in fair condition at a local hospital, according to medics.
“The stabbing victim was treated at the scene for a stab wound in his upper body, following which he was transported to the hospital for further care while fully conscious,” said paramedic Dov Maisel.
The identities of the attackers have not yet been disclosed by law enforcement, and the medical status of the wounded teenager was not clear on Thursday evening.
The attack, which happened at the Shalshelet Gate, comes just one week after Israeli forces announced the arrest of a terror group that had been plotting to carry out a bombing in Jerusalem.
“Our enemies will know that our long arm reaches to all those who try to attack us,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at the time.
