Boy, 16, killed after teenagers wearing body armor take turns shooting one another

Two Florida teenagers who were involved in the death of another teenager when they took turns shooting each other while wearing body armor were arrested on Thursday.

The Belleview Police Department was alerted to a shooting at a residence on April 3 where Christopher Leroy Broad Jr., 16, was found shot. He later died from his injuries at a hospital. Evidence indicated that Joshua Vining, 17, had shot Broad while he was wearing body armor, BDP wrote on social media.

“Through the investigation, it was determined that Vining and Broad were taking turns shooting at each other while wearing a vest which contained a form of body armor,” BPD’s post added. “Vining shot at Broad while he was wearing the vest and he was struck.”
