Cardin, D-Md., toured the Easter Seals’ Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Inter-Generational Center in Silver Spring on Monday and observed its program in which seniors and children share resources. Studies have shown that both seniors and children benefit from inter-generational interaction. Cardin called it a “win-win-win for everyone involved. It provides children with the support and comfort that can come from older adults, it gives seniors a sense of purpose and it means communities will be able to pool their resources”
