Twitter has locked down Kanye West‘s account after he posted a message promising to go “death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE.”
The rapper, who has legally changed his name to “Ye,” made the tweet as part of a series of posts Saturday night, which included tweets about protests in Iran and cancel culture, following a crackdown on his Instagram account.
INSTAGRAM RESTRICTS YE OVER SEEMINGLY ANTISEMITIC POST
“I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE. The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew also You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda,” West said in the now removed tweet.
Twitter said the post was removed because it violated the social media platform’s rules. A Twitter spokesperson also told BuzzFeed that West’s account “has been locked due to a violation of Twitter’s policies.”
West returned to Twitter for the first time since 2020 on Saturday after his Instagram account was restricted over a seemingly antisemitic post. His recent comments, including an assertion that Jared Kushner, a former White House official and former President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, who is Jewish, brokered the Abraham Accords peace agreements for personal profit, led the American Jewish Committee, a Jewish advocacy group, to accuse West of using “antisemitic tropes like greed and control.”
In his first tweet back, he posted a black hat that said “2024” captioned with the same number, appearing to reference a potential run for the presidency in that year.
