WATCH: Netanyahu warns Iran nuclear deal is ‘kowtowing of the Democratic world’

As the United States and Iran appear to be getting closer to reaching a nuclear deal, former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is warning against empowering the “terrorist rogue regime,” saying that the safety of the whole world is at stake.

When asked by Fox’s Mark Levin on Life, Liberty & Levin on Sunday what a nuclear deal would mean for the U.S., Netanyahu said it could be the death of America and Israel because Iran would have the power to threaten whatever nation it wanted.

“It would be a catastrophic development, and I choose my words carefully,” Netanyahu said, explaining that Iran wants to bring the world under its control. “That is exactly where this deal is leading. It is not preventing Iran from getting nuclear weapons. It’s going to pave their way to get nuclear weapons, and it’s paving their way with gold.”

He added that the deal will give Iran a nuclear arsenal and hundreds of billions of dollars to “purvey their terror, to purvey their aggression.”

“This is absurd,” the former prime minister said, “the kowtowing of the Democratic world, and, unfortunately, of the rest of the world to this rogue regime.”

Netanyahu spoke in front of Congress in 2015, pushing back against President Barack Obama’s then-negotiations with Iran. Netanyahu said it was not easy coming to Congress and challenging the president of Israel’s greatest ally.

“I think it’s the responsibility of leaders to speak the truth, especially on matters that determine our future and could jeopardize our future,” Netanyahu said. “When the policy is wrong, you have to speak up, and it doesn’t matter who’s sitting in the White House. What is important is what is the policy, and this policy is wrong. This agreement was supposed to be, Mark, stronger and longer. It is actually weaker and shorter.”

Netanyahu said the deal currently on the table does not push out the date for Iran’s attainment of nuclear weapons but would enable Iran, with international legitimacy, to have advance centrifuges, practically eliminating the “breakout time for a nuclear bomb” by 2027.

“That is not merely nonsensical. It’s very, very dangerous for the future of the world,” Netanyahu said. “[Iran is] developing the ballistic missiles, ultimately intercontinental ballistic missiles, that can take nuclear warheads, nuclear bombs, put them on the missile, and deliver them to any place in the United States, in fact, any place in the world.”

Netanyahu added that there is a grave difference between Iran having nuclear weapons versus other countries.

“I think you have to understand that, I think, Iran would be a nuclear power different from all of the other nuclear powers. And some of them are bad enough. But I think they won’t obey any rules. And this is so dangerous,” Netanyahu said.

He said if President Joe Biden signs a nuclear deal with Iran, he expects a future U.S. administration to leave the deal for the security of Israel and the world.
