NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Harvey Gulf International Marine says it plans to spend $400 million to build and operate an offshore liquefied natural gas fueling site at Port Fourchon (foo-SHANH).
New Orleans CityBusiness reports (http://bit.ly/13SEpKb) that the company says it will be the nation’s first such facility.
Harvey Gulf says it will build two facilities, each able to store 270,000 gallons of liquefied natural gas and to transfer 500 gallons per minute. A news release says the first should be finished in February and the second shortly after that.
CEO Shane Guidry says CH-IV International of Houston is the project’s engineering, procurement and construction contractor.
