Three ways somebody new could grab the GOP nod

Is it too late for a new candidate to enter the race for the Republican presidential nomination? Absolutely not. Is it probable? No. But it is much more likely than many Washington insiders let on.

In order to win the Republican nomination, a candidate must secure the support of 1,144 delegates at the national convention. Most years, this is accomplished well before the convention begins. But not always.
