THE DAILY OUTRAGE: Consulting freeze

Who: Maricopa Association of Governments

What: In order to meet deadlines to spend stimulus money on local road projects, the association will spend about $15 million on consultants.

Why it’s an outrage: Earlier this month, the group received approval for its first project after months of delays. More approvals are expected in November, but the majority of work won’t begin until January of next year.

Where to vent: Call Peggy Neely, chairwoman of the Maricopa Association of Governments at 602-254-6300.
