Pence says Trump will accept GOP presidential nomination in Charlotte

Vice President Mike Pence revealed that President Trump will be present in Charlotte, North Carolina, to accept the Republican Party’s nomination for president.

Tim Boyum of North Carolina’s Spectrum News 1 announced the news on Twitter following a Wednesday interview with Pence.

“BREAKING: I just wrapped an interview with @VP and he told me Pres Trump will accept the nomination IN Charlotte on the Monday of @GOPconvention,” Boyum said.

The revelation comes after Trump announced the cancellation of the Florida portion of the 2020 Republican National Convention because of the coronavirus pandemic. The president said the party business of the convention will still be carried out in Charlotte later this month.
