The D.C. Republican Committee has named Nicholas Jeffress as its new executive director following the announced departure of Paul Craney. Jeffress, a Ward 1 resident, starts on the job Monday. He previously worked for the D.C. GOP in 2010 to do advance work for Republican council candidates. The GOP says he also played a critical role in Patrick Mara’s successful School Board election.
“We were extremely pleased with Nick’s dedication and work in 2010,” Bob Kabel, chairman of the D.C. Republican Committee, said in a news release. “Nick understands D.C. politics, has worked on District campaigns and will do an excellent job going forward.”
According to his LinkedIn profile, Jeffress has a strong background in social media and digital media campaign strategy. So we expect him to be the same Twitter fanatic that Craney was (not a bad thing in this Twitter-crazed town). Jeffress’ most recent gig was at Cap Center, a Virginia-based mortgage lender.
