Ocasio-Cortez defends ‘motherf–ker’ comment: GOP can’t police women’s behavior

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., defended a fellow freshman congresswoman’s use of profanity to describe President Trump.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., has been the subject of criticism in recent days from both Republicans and Democrats — and Trump himself — for saying she wants to “impeach the motherfucker.”

Ocasio-Cortez said the GOP “lost entitlement to police women’s behavior a long time ago” in response to that criticism.

Ocasio-Cortez condemned GOP reaction to Tlaib’s statements as hypocritical, calling it “faux-outrage.”

The tweet referenced Trump’s infamous “Access Hollywood” tape where Trump, off-camera, is recorded bragging about how women allow him to advance on them sexually and that “when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab them by the pussy.”

Tlaib’s comments that used impeachment as a rallying cry occurred at an event hosted by progressive organization MoveOn on Thursday, the first day of the 116th Congress. In an op-ed published by the Detroit Free Press earlier that day, Tlaib called Trump a “direct and serious threat” to America.
