Take 5 for Oct. 14 to 16

Jammin’ Java 10th Anniversary Bash, Saturday This weekend marks a decade since the Brindley family established Jammin’ Java, a prime music venue in Vienna, giving a home for both local and touring musicians to play in the Virginia suburbs.

To celebrate, this Saturday is the Jammin’ Java 10th Anniversary Bash. The party will feature performances by Deep River, Luke Brindley and the Brindley Brothers, as well as a dance party.

Jammin’ Java is also selling an “X Pass,” which for $100 gets you into every Jammin’ Java show in October.

“It wasn’t something we had always dreamed of,” said Luke Brindley, who owns Jammin’ Java with his wife and brothers Daniel and Jonathan. “We were musicians. We naively thought it would be a cool job to do while being musicians.”

The early years were a struggle for Jammin’ Java, as they are for many new businesses.

“Just keep it busy enough to make enough money to make the rent,” Brindley said of their early goals. “The first couple of years, it was life or death.”

For the past 10 years, Jammin’ Java has hosted local musicians and popular national acts. Perfect for owners who love music.

“We’ve always been music lovers first,” Brindley said. “That’s a huge bonus.”
