Sen. Ben Cardin, D-Md., said Friday that President Trump needs to apologize for comments made by White House aide Kelly Sadler, who said it doesn’t matter what Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., thinks because he’s “dying anyway.”
“I would like to hear something from the president of the United States,” Cardin said on CNN Friday. “The president should be saying that this was unacceptable under my watch, I will not tolerate such comments. But we haven’t heard a word from the president.”
Sen. Ben Cardin says he has not yet heard the apologies he called for in the wake of a Trump aide making a joke about Sen. John McCain’s cancer.

Cardin tweeted Thursday that he wanted to wake up Friday morning to a “slew” of apologies to McCain. Sadler has apologized to John McCain’s daughter, Meghan McCain, but Trump has not made any public comment.
Sure hope we wake up to a slew of people apologizing to Sen. McCain.
