Md. man charged with running child porn bulletin board online

A 69-year-old Maryland man has been charged with operating an online bulletin board where members distributed images of child pornography and links to pornography websites.

The 10-count indictment against George Sell, of Cumberland, was unsealed this week in federal court in Greenbelt.

Prosecutors allege that Sell ran Country Lounge, an online bulletin board with 142 members, from December 2006 to August 2008. The website distributed links to sites depicting minors being sexually abused, the indictment says. Members also discussed how to obtain images of child pornography, according to the indictment.

Sell has been charged with conspiracy to advertise child pornography, conspiracy to transport child pornography, receipt of child pornography and possession of child pornography.

A judge has ordered him to remain detained pending trial.
