The British government resumed its intelligence sharing with the U.S. late Thursday following a one-day suspension after the New York Times published sensitive intelligence originally from the U.K., according to the National Police Chiefs Council.
English police said the change comes after “having received fresh assurances” that information shared with intelligence counterparts in the U.S. would not be leaked again, one report said.
Yesterday, the Times published photos of bomb parts used in Monday night’s terror attack in Manchester. British officials worried the sharing of sensitive information could hurt their investigation.
While attending NATO summit in Brussels Thursday, British Prime Minister Theresa May talked about the cross-Atlantic leaks with President Trump. Trump has ordered a review into how the material was leaked.
