Are Kanye West and Kim Kardashian really in love, or is it all just for show? Or for her reality show?
According to the Huffington Post, ever since the two went public last week, there have been skeptics who think this is just a ruse to help Kanye sell singles and help Kim revamp her tarnished image.
“I certainly hope Kim and Kanye’s whirlwind dating isn’t merely a ploy to drum up publicity. But it does seem like it’s already driven a tremendous amount of interest in Kanye’s semi-leaked new single,” Hollywood Life Editor-in-Chief Bonnie Fuller told HuffPo. “In which case, the relationship is already proving lucrative publicity-wise.”
Sources have told Hollywood Life that the paparazzi photos that first revealed the romance were orchestrated by Kim and Kanye.
Kim’s reputation has taken a hit as of late because of her over-the-top wedding to Kris Humphries and the announcement of a divorce just 72 days later.
“After the Kardashian wedding fraud, I don’t believe anything Kim does, so of course it’s a publicity stunt,” said “Cult of Celebrity” author Cooper Lawrence.
Not only would this help her public image, it may help her reality show ratings.
According to Radar Online, Kanye will appear on the upcoming season of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”
A source tells Radar that he won’t be a prominent cast member, but “watch for Kanye to make several appearances on the show towards the end of the season.”
Jason, Michelle still going strong
Jason Segel arrived in L.A. this week after reportedly spending more time with his new flame, Michelle Williams.
And the actor might be growing up before our eyes now that he’s in a serious relationship.
“Jason has been trying to be more of a grown-up lately. He is taking care of himself more, exercising, eating right and dressing better. Basically, not acting like a frat boy anymore,” a source tells Us Weekly.
Despite living on opposite coasts, the couple are still committed to making things work.
“Jason is supersweet,” the source says. “He makes Michelle laugh and feel good about herself.”
Ricki elopes in Cali
Ricki Lake has tied the knot again!
The talk-show host, 43, eloped with her fiance, Christian Evans, on Sunday. The pair wed in a secret ceremony in Southern California, according to People magazine.
“It was a beautiful moment I will never forget,” Ricki told the mag. “I wasn’t anxious or nervous. I was really relaxed and excited.”
Ricki split with her first husband in 2003. She has two sons from that relationship.
“I didn’t think it would happen at this point in my life,” she said. “We just clicked. It just feels like he was the right one all along.”
