LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) — West Texas voters have given state Rep. Charles Perry a promotion.

Voters Tuesday promoted the Lubbock Republican to the state Senate District 28 seat vacated by fellow Republican Robert Duncan, who resigned to become Texas Tech University System chancellor.
