President-elect Trump is considering appointing the husband of his campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, to serve as U.S. solicitor general, according to a report.
George Conway is a partner at the Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz firm. His biography says he joined the firm in Sept. 1988.
“His litigation experience has included a variety of high-profile matters spanning many areas of law in federal and state courts throughout the country,” the biography states. “He has extensive experience in securities litigation, mergers and acquisitions litigation, contract litigation, antitrust litigation, and other litigation, both at the trial and appellate levels.”
Bloomberg News, which first reported the story Friday, cited “two people familiar with the matter” saying George Conway in under consideration for the position.
The solicitor general represents the federal government before the Supreme Court.
Trump has named Kellyanne Conway, who plans to move her family to Washington, a senior White House adviser.
