Facebook pulls Trump interview from Lara Trump’s account and says content in his ‘voice’ will be removed

Facebook reportedly removed a video interview between former President Donald Trump and his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, following the former commander in chief’s ban from the platform in January.

“…and just like that, we are one step closer to Orwell’s 1984. Wow,” Lara Trump posted on Facebook Tuesday evening, accompanied by screenshots of messages ostensibly from a Facebook employee explaining why the video was pulled.

“We removed content from Lara Trump’s Facebook page that featured President Trump speaking,” the Facebook message posted by Lara Trump said. “In line with the block we placed on Donald Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts, further content posted in the voice of Donald Trump will be removed and result in additional limitations on the accounts.”

Her husband, Eric Trump, also shared the message reportedly from Facebook.

FACEBOOK BLOCKS DONALD TRUMP FROM PLATFORM ‘INDEFINITELY’

“This is Facebook friends! What an absolute slap in the face to 75 Million Americans,” Eric Trump tweeted.

Facebook did not immediately respond to the Washington Examiner’s request for comment on the matter.

Social media posts from Lara Trump show her touting the interview ahead of when it was set to air on Tuesday.

Video of the interview does not appear on Lara Trump’s Facebook or Instagram accounts. Her Facebook account does show a post with a link directing to the interview on the platform Rumble.

The former president was indefinitely banned from Facebook and Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, in January following the siege of the Capitol building.

“We believe the risks of allowing the president to continue to use our service during this period are simply too great,” Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a statement at the time. “Therefore, we are extending the block we have placed on his Facebook and Instagram accounts indefinitely and for at least the next two weeks until the peaceful transition of power is complete.”

Trump’s 45 Office did not immediately respond to the Washington Examiner’s request for comment on the matter.
