Trump: Media hates my ‘honest and unfiltered’ Twitter messages

President Trump said Tuesday morning the “fake” mainstream media dislikes his use of social media because it allows him to “get the honest and unfiltered message out.”

“The FAKE MSM is working so hard trying to get me not to use Social Media. They hate that I can get the honest and unfiltered message out,” Trump said on his Twitter account Tuesday.

“Sorry folks, but if I would have relied on the Fake News of CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, washpost or nytimes, I would have had ZERO chance winning WH,” the president said in a subsequent tweet.

The president’s use of social media has been under scrutiny since the campaign. But the president’s advisers have defended Trump’s use of social media, saying it allows him to speak directly to his supporters.

Trump’s use of Twitter has already received criticism this week after the president used his account to call out the mayor of London following Saturday’s terror attack and slam his own Justice Department over implementation of his travel ban, which was blocked by two court rulings.

His statements calling his immigration order a “travel ban” won the attention of George Conway, a lawyer who was considered for a top post at the Justice Department and White House counselor Kellyanne Conway’s husband.

Conway said on his own Twitter account that Trump’s tweets “may make some ppl feel better,” but would only make the Trump administration’s job of defending the ban in court more difficult.
