Universal Studios in Orlando announced Friday it would no longer require fully vaccinated guests to wear masks inside its parks effective Saturday.
The park made the announcement in a press release explaining its updated safety guidelines. Those who aren’t vaccinated will be encouraged to continue masking indoors. The same policy applies to park employees.

“Face coverings are optional for fully vaccinated guests. For guests who have not been vaccinated, face coverings are encouraged while indoors — including restaurants, shops and indoor hotel public areas,” reads the park’s updated guidelines. “We do not require proof of vaccinations.”
Florida’s COVID-19 positive rate is 18%, according to the Florida Department of Health. There were just over 132,000 cases last week and 74% of the state’s population is fully vaccinated.

Orange County, which houses Orlando, has a vaccinated population of 77%. The COVID-19 positive rate, however, is higher than the state’s average at over 23%.
