Scoop: Chris Brown, Rihanna – The Grammy aftermath

The big shocker of this year’s Grammys had nothing to do with awards — it was the drama between Rihanna and Chris Brown that left her bruised, landed him in jail and forced both R&B singers to cancel their performances. Allegedly, the couple got into an argument that turned physical early Sunday — and, sadly, may have been part of a cycle of violence in Chris’ life.

In an interview published two years ago, the heartthrob revealed to Giant magazine that his stepfather was abusive to his mother.

“He used to hit my mom,” Chris recalled. “I remember one night he made her nose bleed. I was crying and thinking, ‘I’m just gonna go crazy on him one day …’ I hate him to this day.

The 19-year-old turned himself in to police Sunday and was released after posting $50,000 bail. Though police wouldn’t confirm that the woman who “suffered visible injuries and identified Brown as her attacker” was Rihanna, his girlfriend of more than a year, TMZ claims that the police report identified the victim as Robyn Fenty — the “Umbrella” singer’s birth name.

This is a heartbreaking reminder that domestic violence can happen to anyone. Let’s hope this high-profile incident can bring some awareness to a problem that is all too often hidden.

Ben, Junior?

Though he and wife Jennifer Garner just welcomed their second daughter, Seraphina, last month, Ben Affleck is already dreaming of having a son, OK! magazine reports.

“Ben’s happy to keep going until he gets his boy,” a source tells the tab of the father of two, adding that the diehard Boston baseball fan “has visions of dressing a little guy in Red Sox gear, tossing a baseball around and cheering in the stands together.”

Jen, on the other hand, allegedly isn’t eager to have a third child. “She’s told friends that she’s done,” a pal says. “She jokes with Ben, ‘If you want more babies, you’ll have to find a way to produce them yourself!’”

If Ben can’t persuade Jen to produce a son, the source says, “he’ll have those little girls dressed head-to-toe in Red Sox gear!”

We can already guess how Violet and Seraphina will rebel when they hit their teenage years — by becoming Yankees fans.

Surgery Scare

Usher has flown to his wife Tameka’s side in Brazil after she suffered complications from surgery.

“Tameka Raymond is in stable condition after suffering complications from routine surgery in Brazil,” the R&B singer’s rep said in a statement. “Her husband Usher is with her at the hospital. No further details will be released, and the family requests privacy at this difficult time.”

“Access Hollywood” has reported that Tameka was undergoing cosmetic surgery. A source said Monday that she had been placed in a medical coma but is now stabilized. A neurosurgeon was reportedly flown in to treat her.

Tameka is the mother of Usher’s two young sons — the younger only two months old — and three other children. We wish her a full and speedy recovery, and a safe return home to her family.
