No, Chelsea Clinton’s latest book is not a flop!
Oh, sure, you can read—in suspect right-wing media such as Heat Street—catty articles about Governing Global Health: Who Runs the World and Why, which the former first daughter co-authored with University of Edinburgh global health professor Devi Sridhar. Articles that say things like this:
Untrue, all of the above!
First of all, Governing Global Health is actually No. 72,389 on Amazon. That’s a big difference!
Furthermore, Governing Global Health has gotten a rave review in the New England Journal of Medicine. Here’s an excerpt:
Oh, wait—that’s a review of a different book titled Governing Global Health. That book, a collection of essays edited by Andrew F. Cooper, John J. Kirton, and Ted Schrecker, was published in 2007.
But Chelsea Clinton actually is promoting her book, contrary to what Heat Street says. Here’s an article about a big book tour starting in April that she announced just yesterday, according to CNN:
Oops! Wrong Chelsea Clinton book! CNN continues:
Still, after much Internet searching, I did find some evidence that someone is promoting Chelsea’s 2017 book, in contrast to her 2015 book. Here’s an announcement for a March 2 event at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health:
Okay! Although Chelsea does happen to be an adjunct professor at the Mailman School—which might explain why the school seems to be the only outfit on earth that cares about her latest tome.
