James Pethokoukis, again, on the absence of a jobs report and imagining what it would have been like to be covering the release on one, 30 years ago, when:
… the BLS reported net new payrolls of 1,114,000. That right, over a million net new jobs in just one month. The Reagan Recovery was on.
On the other hand, if there were a jobs report today, the experts would have been:
… looking for nonfarm payroll growth this month of around 180,000.
