Kyle Rittenhouse has ‘nightmares’ about Kenosha shootings, mother says

Kyle Rittenhouse suffers from nightmares from his experience at the August 2020 Black Lives Matter riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin, where he fatally shot two men and injured a third, according to his mother.

Wendy Rittenhouse appeared Thursday night on Fox News host Sean Hannity’s show to talk about her son hours after the defense rested its case following nearly a week of testimony that saw her 18-year-old son, who is on trial on homicide charges, sob on the stand.

“I’m relieved that he’s OK,” Wendy Rittenhouse said. “But he has a lot of healing to do because he does have nightmares from this.”

DEFENSE RESTS IN KYLE RITTENHOUSE TRIAL FOLLOWING A WEEK OF TENSE TESTIMONY, ANGRY OUTBURSTS, AND A SOBBING DEFENDENT

Kyle Rittenhouse broke down in tears while testifying in his own defense on Wednesday, which his mother said made her want to “just go up there and just hug him and tell him it would be OK.”

Liberal pundits mocked and jeered at Rittenhouse after his emotional breakdown in court, saying his display of emotion amounted to “crocodile tears,” among other claims.

The elder Rittenhouse also slammed President Joe Biden for linking her son to white supremacists while on the campaign trail.

“When I saw that, I was in shock. I was angry,” Wendy Rittenhouse said. “President Biden doesn’t know my son. He’s not a white supremacist, is not a racist. And he did that for the votes. And I was so angry for a while at him and what he did to my son. He defamed him.”

Judge Bruce Schroeder has garnered media attention for yelling at the prosecutor, which Wendy Rittenhouse said complies with his reputation as a “fair” judge.

“The judge is very fair,” she said. “People that I talked to that [have lived] in Kenosha all their lives, they told me that Judge Schroeder is a very fair judge, and he doesn’t allow no nonsense in his courtroom.”

She concluded by saying that, given the choice to do it over again, she thinks her son would go back to Kenosha that night because she raised him to “help people.”

“With Kyle, I know him, and he probably would do it again because that’s the type of person he is,” she said. “He always wants to help people, even since he was a little boy. That’s all he wanted to do was help people. It doesn’t matter if it was raking leaves for the neighbors, talking to them, or just being goofy.”

Kyle Rittenhouse, who claims he was defending himself, has pleaded not guilty to seven charges, including two counts of homicide, one count of attempted homicide, and two counts of reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon.

The defense rested Thursday following a week of testimony from both sides. Closing arguments will be heard on Monday, and the jury will begin deliberation the same day.
