Joint Chiefs preparing new plan to defeat Islamic State

The Joint Chiefs of Staff are preparing a new plan to defeat the Islamic State that falls in line with campaign pledges from President-elect Trump, according to reports.

Joint Chiefs Chairman Marine Gen. Joseph Dunford told the Reagan National Security Forum that it is preparing a new plan to defeat the terrorist group, according to Military.com.

Dunford said that there are “some things that we probably would bring into the new administration for consideration.”

He added that he owes it to the incoming administration to keep the advice under wraps until Trump is able to sign off.

Dunford added that the U.S. has already made “significant progress” in defeating the Islamic State thanks to working with local forces.
