Corey Lewandowski jabbed Rep. Eric Swalwell on his failed presidential bid during the House Judiciary Committee hearing on Tuesday.
Swalwell repeatedly asked Lewandowski to read what he wrote down when President Trump wanted him to deliver a message to then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions, which Lewandowski offered Swalwell to read for himself.
“Would you like to read it?” Swalwell asked.
“No, you’re welcome to read it,” Lewandowski replied.
Swalwell followed up by asking, “Are you ashamed of the words you wrote down?”
“President Swalwell, I’m very happy of what I’ve written, but you’re welcome to read it if you’d like,” Lewandowski snidely remarked, before the two continued their abortive back-and-forth.
Swalwell dropped out of the 2020 presidential race in July after failing to gain traction in the crowded field. He mainly ran on implementing more gun control, with one of first campaign events taking place near Parkland, Florida, where 17 students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School were killed in a mass shooting.
