Prince George’s County police are investigating two shooting deaths nearby each other in the county, authorities said.
At about 10:45 p.m. Monday, police were informed that a passerby noticed a body along a wood line in New Carrollton in the 5300 block of 85th Avenue.
Authorities found the body of Christopher Donald Smith, 16, shot, Prince George’s police spokeswoman Julie Parker said.
Then at around 11:30 p.m. an ambulance crew leaving the scene of the first incident found 23-year-old Alfonso Edward Thompson Jr., who had been shot while riding a bicycle in West Lanham Hills, Parker said.
Investigators are exploring the possibility that the crimes were related, Parker said, but there is no confirmation of a connection.
