The most prolific rapist in the United Kingdom was sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty in four separate trials.
Reynhard Sinaga, 36, was found guilty of 159 counts of sexual offenses against 48 different men, according to CNN. He will spend at least 30 years in prison before he is considered for release. Law enforcement officials believe that Sinaga could have committed as many as 190 assaults.
“Reynhard Sinaga is the most prolific rapist in British legal history,” Ian Rushton, North West deputy chief crown prosecutor, said. “His extreme sense of sexual entitlement almost defies belief, and he would no doubt still be adding to his staggering tally had he not been caught.”
Sinaga, who police believe began his attacks in 2005, would approach men outside nightclubs in Manchester and would invite them to his place. Upon returning to his place, he would drug the men and film himself raping the victims while they slept.
Details of Sinaga’s crimes were suppressed until the conclusion of the trials.
“It is almost beyond belief that someone who could profess some Christian faith could at the same time have been committing such wicked and evil crimes,” Judge Suzanne Goddard said while delivering her verdict. “You are an evil serial sexual predator who has preyed upon young men who came into the city center wanting nothing more than a good night out with their friends.”
The assailant was caught after an 18-year-old victim woke up in the middle of being assaulted. He fought off Sinaga and was able to escape with his phone.
