Meghan McCain criticized George Conway, husband to White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, for his apparent inability to control his wife.
McCain went after George on during a segment on The View on Wednesday, during which the hosts reacted to a clip of Kellyanne asking a reporter what his ethnicity is.
The White House counselor was attempting to defend President Trump from accusations of racism following several tweets he sent on Sunday telling some freshman congresswomen of color to “go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came.”
“I don’t really care [what point Kellyanne was trying to make] because it’s so tone deaf,” McCain began. “What I will say is her husband is one of the most adamant, outspoken people, especially against what he interpreted as the president’s tweets being racist. My message to George Conway is: start at home, okay?
“I’m sick of this, because he gets on his high horse on Twitter all day. If I felt like my husband were getting on TV and saying racist comments like this, and I were so outraged, we would be having a conversation,” McCain continued. “I’m stopping taking him seriously because I just think if it were someone I was super close to that was out doing this, I would take it further than just Twitter.”
