First lady Melania Trump will celebrate her birthday Friday with a private dinner in the White House residence.
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe and his wife, Akie Abe, who are visiting the U.S. this week, will attend.
“There will be a dinner celebration in the residence. The Abe’s will attend,” Stephanie Grisham, the first lady’s spokeswoman, told the Daily Mail.
The first lady also spent her last birthday in the White House residence with her family.
The president publicly wished his wife a happy birthday last year during a phone interview with “Fox & Friends.”
When asked what he got the first lady for the special day, Trump said he didn’t have time to put much thought into a gift.
“I better not get into that because I may get into trouble. Maybe I didn’t get her so much,” he explained. “I got her a beautiful card. I’m very busy to be running out looking for presents. I got her a beautiful card and some beautiful flowers.”
