Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA) wore an inflammatory abortion pin to Biden’s 2023 State of the Union address.
The pin was simply the word “abortion” with a heart in the place of the first “o,” appearing to glorify abortion. It was provided to the senator by Planned Parenthood.

“I’m wearing my abortion pin from @PPFA to tonight’s State of the Union address. Abortion is essential healthcare and we need to codify this right,” Markey tweeted, along with a picture of him smiling with a thumbs up and a close-up of the pin.

Responses to the tweet were largely negative, indicated by a disproportionate number of comments compared to the number of likes received.
