A teacher in North Carolina resigned after his classroom rant went viral on social media.

The video comes out of Southwest High School in Jacksonville, North Carolina, but only really gained popularity after the teacher reportedly resigned on Friday.

“Does anyone else want to try my authority?” the rant begins, as the student to whom the rant is directed films her reaction. “Because I am f***ing done playing with you idiots.”

“I am here because I want to be here. I somewhat enjoy this job,” the teacher goes on. “You need something from me. I need nothing from you.”

“You can go through life and live on the f***ing system, draw your paycheck on the first and 15th from my taxes, and live just an absolute horrible life,” the teacher continued. “I don’t care. You can be another statistic. I don’t care.”

The teacher said that if the students didn’t believe him, then the class could visit the county office to pull the welfare records.

“If you don’t like my language, I don’t give a s***,” the teacher said. “‘Cause you’ve said worse.”

The video ends abruptly as the teacher is heard slapping or throwing something down with a loud noise.
