Actress Tanya Roberts is still alive, according to her publicist, despite his earlier report that she had died.
On Sunday, TMZ reported that the 65-year-old, famous for her roles in Charlie’s Angels, the James Bond movie franchise, and That ’70s Show, was rushed to the hospital and put on a ventilator after collapsing on Christmas Eve.
Lance O’Brien, Roberts’s longtime partner, said that on Sunday, he went to visit Roberts at the hospital after doctors told him she was fading fast. When he got there, Roberts opened her eyes and tried to grab him, but then, O’Brien said, she “faded.” He left the facility distraught, thinking she had died.
The next day, a representative for Roberts, Mike Pingel, released a statement based on what he had heard from O’Brien, announcing Roberts’s death. That morning, during an interview with Inside Edition, Pingel said he received a call from the hospital informing him that Roberts was not, in fact, dead.
“Now you’re telling me that she’s alive?” O’Brien can be heard saying in response to the call. “Thank the Lord. Thank God.”
Pingel said Roberts is still in critical condition. The cause of her illness is unclear. Pingel added that she does not have COVID-19.
