Trump taps Carson to help find VP

Donald Trump announced that Ben Carson will help with the search to find the presumptive nominee’s running mate.

“I’ll set up a [vice presidential] committee, and that I will do soon,” Trump told the New York Times Wednesday of his running mate plans. “I think on the committee I’ll have Dr. Ben Carson and some other folks.”

Trump, the last remaining GOP candidate, said he will make his vice presidential choice in July. He is also leaning toward someone who is a seasoned politician, he said.

“I’m more inclined to go with a political person,” Trump said. “I have business very much covered. I think I’ll be absolutely great on the military and military strategy.”

His remaining rivals, Ted Cruz and John Kasich, dropped their presidential bids after Trump’s massive Indiana primary victory, making the businessman the unofficial nominee.
